Hair Component

Overview

Material component dedicated to hair shading, giving a characteristic double scatter "shine" to the hair surface. The technique uses two specular components that can be moved independently, rendering two highlights. Another technical aspect, the specular is computed using the point tangent rather than the normal.

Asset requirements

  • UV mapping should be in the direction of the hair strands geometry

  • Specular Shift Texture - shift the specular highlight on a per-pixel basis

  • Secondary Specular Mask - controls the secondary specular highlight, and can mask certain areas where the highlight shouldn’t be present (0 the specular will not be visible, 255 full specular)

Material Options

Material Options can only be modified from the Animaze Editor.
